AUTOMOTIVE BUSINESS
I was a few steps away from filing Flint Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. It seemed like such a bad thing to have to do. A failure, really. I was really upset at having to do it, but I was seeing very little in the way of alternatives to get out of it. The business, which had been so promising just a few months ago, was in the tank. My debts were climbing, and there was very little I could do about it. I had no resources left that didn't have a lein against it, and revenue from the business was declining sharply. I was in the restaurant business and had gotten overextended. I couldn't help it. I had to make a stab at expanding the business or going in reverse. This market is heavily dependent on the automotive business and the auto after market business. We happened to be in a really good location, and the business seemed really busy no matter what was going on with car sales. Until recently. Then things slowed down quite a bit. We couldn't figure out why. We did have to raise prices based on the cost of fuel. Our distributors were raising their prices. We had no choice.
