I hardly answer my phone anymore because all I get are calls form bill collectors. I especially hate it when they call at some awkward hour of the night and then expect you to talk to them. I once got a call all the way from Dallas bankruptcy asking about some student loan or something. The guy actually sounded surprised that I was mad that he called me after eleven o’clock at night and woke me up. And then they have these little tactics they use to try and get you to pay right at that moment. First they try an act like they are your friend and are doing you a favor. Then they try and scare you by telling you it will hit your credit report. Knowing that it is already on my credit and will stay there for seven years even if I do pay the full amount right now makes that tactic pointless. Then they just come off rude. One person actually asked me what I spent the money on and why. I cannot understand how they think this will help them get what they want any easier. At the most, it is just going to make the person they are calling even angrier.
