EVERYTHING IN ORDER
Because the Los Angeles Angels game was so bad, Joe is hankering for another shot at getting White Sox tickets. I am hoping that I can do something as I cannot always depend on Father Rich to give me tickets. I called Mrs. Murphy today and she was free. She asked me to go to her house for coffee and I went. I didn’t want mine spiked with liquor so I told her I was on a no-coffee diet and took water instead. It has been a long time since I saw Mrs. Murphy and I asked her about her friend. She said she was feeling better and was hoping to get that surgery for her eyes so she could see again. I started talking about ticket to the Sox game and she said that she could get a pair of tickets for me. She gave me an large envelope that was very heavy that she needed delivered to her tax accountant who lived across town. She said that he always had Sox tickets because he had season’s tickets so I decided to go and to this favor for her and get the tickets from the guy. I hoped he didn’t charge me too much. I went over to the tax office, which was very small, and the guy came out. He seemed really familiar but I couldn’t place him. Anyway, he looked at her forms and said everything seemed to be in order and gave me the Sox tickets! I couldn’t believe it. He said that any friend of Mrs. Murphy’s was a friend of his and that any time I needed Sox tickets, I could count on him. He did ask me to bring more forms to Mrs. Murphy in a smaller envelope so she could get them signed but that was the extent of the favor. I was glad to do it and won’t Joe be happy about the Sox tickets.
