If you say terms like targeted traffic, or virus program, search engine, or HTML coding to some people, you get a blank look.  While the computer is the single most marvelous and significant invention since the printing press, not everyone has become familiar with computers.  Many children grow learning how to use one and it just becomes second nature.  A lot of adults have picked up because their jobs or their lives needed them to.  Everything is going onto computers.  My father worked for thirty years as a stationary engineer and now his job is mostly done via computer, even though he knows perfectly well how to handle things without one.  He even wonders at times why they can’t just let him do the job without computers like he’s been doing all along.  He doesn’t understand they’re switching over to make things easier for everyone else and all the engineers who will come after him.  They can’t just keep things outdated to keep him comfortable.   No matter how much seniority he has, he has to stay up to date on what his industry is doing to improve itself and how the job is changing.  It’s not the same as it was 30 years ago. He has to realize that.
